Regional Diagnostic Radiology
is the premier provider of the
most technically advanced
diagnostic imaging and
interventional image-guided
services to the people of
Central Minnesota. Through
continuous improvement
efforts, we strive to produce
the most accurate and timely
results for our referring
physicians and patients in
both the hospital and
outpatient settings.
Regional Diagnostic Radiology (RDR) is a growing, technologically-savvy private
practice group committed to serving the communities of Central Minnesota. Having
provided high quality diagnostic imaging services to St. Cloud Hospital and surrounding
areas for over 25 years, RDR is now poised to deliver an expanding array of services to a
broader geography of physicians and patients than ever before.
Currently, RDR delivers full time on-site coverage to St. Cloud Hospital, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, and St. Gabriel’s Hospital. Through state-of-the-art tele-networking and
weekly outreach visits, we also provide coverage for several community hospitals:
Paynesville Area Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital, Albany Area Hospital, Melrose Hospital,
and Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. Daily coverage is also provided to the
St. Cloud VA Hospital and many area clinics.
To achieve quick and efficient coverage over such a large area, RDR pioneered the
integration of an innovative Picture Archiving and Communications System, or PACS. This
system enables near-instantaneous digital transfer of images from the point of acquisition
to RDR for interpretation. Physicians can call an RDR radiologist and discuss a case while
viewing the same images on monitors several miles apart, dramatically reducing the time
required to provide prompt diagnosis and subsequent treatment for their patients.
RDR is currently comprised of 15 radiologists with fellowship trained sub-specialists in the
areas of Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Body Imaging,
and MRI. We perform a vast array of minimally invasive procedures, including: stereotactic
and US guided breast biopsy; CT, US and fluoroscopic guided biopsy; image guided pain
management; vascular access and maintenance; renal and peripheral angioplasty and stent
placement; vertebroplasty; aortic stent grafting; and much more. Our group also has
extensive expertise in the areas of vascular CT, MR and US and Virtual Colonography.
Driven by continuing advancements in imaging and communications technology, radiology
has become an increasingly pivotal component in the rapid diagnosis, treatment and
management of patients. RDR physicians are committed to remaining on the cutting edge
of this technological revolution and spreading its benefits among a growing list of Central
Minnesota communities.
